What to do with left overs, mead that didn't end up to your liking or didn't each well? Why not create a Mead Liqueur?
This is less of a recipe but more what I did with what I had on hand. Depending on your equipment quantities and percentages might vary. My wash that I distilled was 16L old honey wine of around 15% ABV.
Discard the first 2% (320ml). (Also called the Foreshots and heads)
Collect 20% (2.7L). (Also called the Hearts)
I stopped a little bit early and ended up with 2.55L of 60% ABV. I mixed it with 3.75L sweet honey wine at 18% ABV to make 6.3L of liqueur with an ABV of 35%
