Hi, my name is George TimmermansI am a Software Engineer with a keen interest in embedded systems. I love to do research and prototyping for simple and complex mechanical/digital systems where at the same time I can solve mechanical challenges with my background as Research Toolmaker. I also design and install Long Range Wireless Broadband networks (WISP).
In 2010 I moved to New Zealand after graduating as Research Instrument Maker at the LIS, a subsidiary of the famous Leiden University in the Netherlands. My first big project in New Zealand was helping design, calculate and build my parents quadruple - icosagon shaped house, bringing technical skills (CAD) and a safe pair of hands to the building project.
Near completion of the house it was time to look for possible future employment. My interest in the field of embedded systems led to my enrolment into a Software Engineering degree at Wellington Institute of Technology. During the graduation year I coordinated a project for a future commercial product that will revolutionise WOF testing. I graduated in 2014.
I started my software engineering career at the ANZ bank in Wellington, New Zealand. After 6+ years I was tempted with a new opportunity elsewhere.
My current role is that of Senior Analyst Programmer at Access-IT Software Ltd, based in Wellington, New Zealand. |
